kozue lookbook

Ever since the airing of Shibuhara Girls, which got me to know about Kozue Akimoto, I've been pretty obsessed with her fashion sense. I can see why, we both love knits. And trust me I do get weird stares when I wear them here in sunny Singapore. I mean who cares right ?

Anyways I just so happen to chance upon her blog which she created not too long ago. Since I'm such a fan of her style, I did a collage of her daily dressing that she posted on her blog.

beware it's image heavy, but worth it

All the way from Hong Kong!

Our dear doll has been hard at work blogging away here while I've been doing the exact opposite. Major guilt trip >.< I'm sorry for neglecting this blog and I'll do my best with blogging from now on!
Anyway life in Hong Kong has been great! It really is hitting me now that my decision to uproot my life in Singapore and move here was sudden but it has been doing me good. I'm finally settling into my new apartment. It's only been 2 months and 4 days since I moved to Hong Kong and 1+ month since I moved into my current apartment but it feels like i've been here at least half a year! here's a photo of my walk-in closet before moving all my clothes in. I want to show you my closet now but it's a mess. Trust me, I've been shopping at EVERY chance I get.
The initial month of shopping was good. Singapore never had as many Japanese brands as Hong Kong do so I really went crazy shopping at all my favorite Japanese brands. Recently however, I decided to revisit my favorite local mall at Mongkok and had a major haul over there. posting a photo of my coordinate from yesterday with a HKD200 Union Jack sweater- major steal from Mongkok and my current love <3 Black dress: Topshop approx SGD39
Union Jack Sweater: Unknown brand- HKD200 (approx SGD30)
Black striped stockings with ribbon details down the back: Atsugi- originally HKD60, bought it at the Sogo Thanksgiving sale at about 30% discount. IT WAS A CRAZY CROWD but i shall leave talking about that to another post.
Shoes: Aldo - the first pair of shoes I bought in HKG. can't recall the price but it's expensive..
(I actually wore a Lowry's Farm jacket since it was cold yesterday but I forgot to wear it for the photo)

I'll be blogging about all my purchases soon. I've bought so much stuff here that I'm in love with, I just HAVE to share it with you all :)

A Note

We haven't been updating much since U-sa chan has officially cross the sea to Hong Kong and I'm already missing her badly! As for me, my work schedule isn't giving me much time either but we'll try. I just recently got back from Hong Kong visiting U-sa! She's doing great! LOL

Dolly Wink Otona Collection

N2 is just next week. Preparing for exam is never fun.. now my table is deck with piles of assessment books. I haven't had this much things to study since high school, since I graduated from Art school there after.

Tsu-chan produced another collection of Dolly Wink lashes which looks more natural to her already popular collection. The new series is named Otona which means adult in Japanese ~ we can see how she's maturing, hence probably more natural looking lashes this time round.

This collection is a continuation from her first series of Dolly Winks. (if u notice that the numbers runs in sequence after 8) I'm really looking forward in getting some of them myself..

I think this video speaks a thousand words~

iro iro

Just chance upon this on Youtube and I thought I'd share... esp for Tsu-chan fans out there..

These are really cute fashion pointers from Tsu-chan~

Did you manage to get the last Pop Sister magazine which is out recently?? It's the very last issue so if you haven't pls do~ I'm not sure why would they wanna stop it since it's pretty ninki (人気)~
oh wells gd things always have to come to and end a way or another..

Recently, Tangs brought Harajuku Street Style to their shop @ Orchard.. a couple of us went for the launch last Friday, but imo, I was kind of disappointed because of the collection of clothes....
it's targeted more towards the "mori style" rather than a series of styles you can choose from, maybe because of our culture?? (afraid of trying new things)

shall update on the next post ~ and some other outdated posts about lashes that I recently purchased!!

konapun

Today my friend shared with me a really cute toy. It's call the Konapun こなぷん. A non-edible kind of cooking toy that uses chemical reaction of powder and water to create almost edible miniature looking food. Though the setback about it, it will rot after a while...

Tokyo Kawaii TV

So apparently I was kinda curious about the 東京カワイイTV episodes on Singapore so called "Gyaru" fashion, so I just surfed around a bit and found that there are uploaded recent episodes on Pandora TV on CH.244510104 here. Or you can download the application on iPhone, which I'd suggest and prefer, though viewing is smaller, but faster. Another way is through live stream on KeyHole TV.. which is good unless you have higher bandwidth but the quality is poor.

Those of you who have watched it, there is a link @ the main official site with both Lie & Maiko-sensei's blog over here. Maiko-sensei, a former gyaru model is now a teacher at a Senmon Gakko 専門学校 in Shibuya name BLEA.

Spring is almost here....

Hi hunny bunch sugar plums, gosh I don' know what has gotten into my head today. Or it could just probably be that I was excited over the purchase I did yesterday, an "EGG" mouse from Elecom. Got the pink-mini, since they didn't have either black/white & neither did I want an orange or blue.. or another model!

Yay, lets go to cosmetics.. I know gadgets are boring.. but I like them. Ok, so if you are a frequent reader of POPSISTER you'd have gotten the April issue, and in it there are tons and tons of Spring make-up look and info.

I've been obsessed about Jill Stuart and Paul&Joe lately. Though of cos unless you're travelling to Japan, Taiwan, Korea or HongKong, we still can't get Jill's fabulous make-up on this sunny paradise. But at least we do have Paul&Joe!!

Even the fresh girly packaging fits Spring~
"these were taken from the April issue of POPSISTER"
My spring make-up!
♥DollyWink 01 eyelashes
♥Ettusais lip balm, acne & under eye concealer
♥Jill Stuart Blush & eye shadow palette

Also I was thinking on a tinted base from Paul&Joe which is still a rave among Japanese ladies none the less.

My current foundation ritual is just basically Chanel's pressed 2way foundation. I do have the liquid foundation but I felt that it's too thick for my liking.. if I were to use the liquid foundation, I'll opt for Givenchy Prism Loose Powder, which is still by far the best I've ever use...

We ♥ Valentine's

.MEOW! Gd afternoon & Happy St. Valentine's ♥♥

Since today is V-day & I was browsing around the web to find some lovely awesome Valentine's goodies for handmade stuffs at Tokyu Hands.
What is Tokyu Hands? Well it's a really popular shop in Japan to purchase all your D-I-Y items from your household needs to crafts. Me & うさチャンenjoy heading there whenever we're back in Tokyo.

Download! the app on iTunes

(This is just too cool ain't it?)
Sighs, now I feel really sad & sulky because I'm pretty much stuck here and wishing that we could have an awesome D-I-Y one stop shop here decked to brim with cute stuff and be spoilt for choices.
...in your dreams dear

Rose FanFan x Sho-comi manga by Shiraishi Yuki. Love stories which involves the help of Rose FanFan.. it's really cute, I do recommend this read if you're a manga-holic just like me.

Scans & translate in English are available on Manga Fox, but only the first chapter.

& speaking of which, we met over the weekends with our other lovely friend in crime.. truly missing our class on Saturday's & hang-out sessions. So we were hooked to CUBE003 Purikura machine~ the cool/sweet themes are just too lovely that we couldn't resist. Though I still wish that they would bring in the new ones sooner~

ps: うさチャンhas been pretty busy being that she just came back from her HongKong trip, but do look out for her updates soon!!

Shibuhara Girls

Set within the city’s epicentres for Japanese pop culture – Tokyo’s Shibuya and Harajuku – Shibuhara Girls exposes the hopes, heartaches and struggles of four young women who journeyed there seeking stardom.

Marie Ishikawa is a singer whose dream is about to come true as she makes her recording debut in 2011. Shion Miyawaki debuted in 2007 but with her music career slowing down, both she and her record label need to find a new direction. Chinese-born model Sun Wei grew up in Japan and her stardom is on the rise. Though surrounded by admirers, she is single and looking for love. Daughter of a sumo legend and national icon, Kozue Akimoto wants to step out of her father’s shadow and is quickly finding her niche as the model with eclectic tastes.

Against the backdrop of Shibuhara, emotions and dramas unfold as the driven young women navigate the demands of friends, relationships, managers and families on the road to make their mark.

Tsu-chan's Update!

皆チャン、お元気??

Been so busy with life that I almost forgot of the existence of this blog! LOL, nah not really~ well just busy with many projects on hand at the moment. So I suppose that everyone is doing good.. it's the year of the Rabbit soon.. wishing all a blessful year ahead, with good health.

Just wanted to update about Tsu-chan's new blog on ameba, as she discontinued hers on style-walker earlier last year. She's also quite an active user on Twitter as well if you are interested on following, but yep, her updates are in Japanese so those of you who have problem understanding the language, may have to use a traslator. It's still fun none the less..

Tsu-chan updates a lot on her clothing purchases and kawaii photos of herself so it's worth popping by.
