In my brain I have an album of pre-conceived images of places I have never been to and when ドール spoke of K-ki (i.e ケーキ; or 'cake' in English) at Ann Siang Hill, I imagined it to be tucked in a quiet corner of Chinatown, perfect for an afternoon's getaway.

After gathering as much information as we could (one of them being that the cakes were often sold out by late noon), we got there bright and early on a hot Wednesday afternoon and got ourselves a seat by the window.

By noon the place was pretty much filled and people who came in during lunch hour either bought cakes to-go or spent their time browsing through the knick-knacks at The Little Drom Store while waiting for seats.

Counting our lucky stars for getting there early, we ordered ourselves a cake each for starters.

We aren't big fans of Mont Blancs in general but could not resist this when we saw it being brought out from the kitchen at the back.. So the greedy us ordered the Mont Blanc to share. I think the visuals pretty much explained why:

Just imagine the layers of chestnut puree (with bits of chestnut to add that little texture) and whipped cream- we're not particular big fans of this but I'm sure it will appeal to all chestnut lovers :)
