A/W 2010 Mook Collection

Many apologies for lack on updates from me. I was suppose to update months back, but somehow the laziness bug decided to visit yet again...

Did you all realize the Mook magazines debuting for A/W 2010 at Kinokuniya lately? These magazines are catalogues which usually comes with kawaii supplements from various brands~ of course the quality varies. But considering it to be "free", it's quite well made.

I've been stocking up on quite a few, which are personal purchases.

*Taken from mook official website

The long awaited release of JILLSTUART. It comes with a cosme bag which I personally love because of it's infamous ribbon charm dangling & 2 compartments which house your cosmetic brushes, and cosmetics for the other.

Cath Kidston Tote, which is made of canvas. The print is very pretty in my opinion. It comes in 2 sizes one large and the other small, which you can use as your lunch tote, how awesome is that?!!

Gilfy X ViVi Gilfy Mook Catalog. Outer layer is made of PVC, and inner will be some sorta silk finish material. It's huge and the magazine itself is pretty interesting, a keeper! But it's currently OOS, and they have no idea when the next shipment will be to Singapore. But do keep a look out, because it's really a steal!!

Check out Mook official site for more details on latest/new releases from them. It usually takes about 2 weeks to arrive to Singapore.

In the mood for experiments ♥

L'Oréal Renewal Lash Serum
We got ourselves the L'Oréal Renewal Lash Serum!

This has been all the rave recently and here we're off to some experimenting! Here's a photo (pardon the quality- my camera battery's been faulty recently and all I have left is my iPhone) before the daily routine started:

Before

It was recommended to be used on lashes day and night for 28 consecutive days for visible results. The first few days were kinda heart-wrenching for me. I don't know if it was the product or just that I incurred a heightened sense of awareness with the state of my eyelashes after I started using this, but I noticed that I was losing more eyelashes than usual :(

I kept telling myself it was just that I didn't notice the rate I lose my eyelashes before. In any case, I stuck to using the product almost daily (I kinda missed out on using the product on certain nights). I figured the worst case scenario would just be that I would have bare eyelids in the end (likened to Madarosis @_@) but nobody has complained of that yet.. and I'm actually beginning to see a slight improvement in the length of my lashes after 1 week!

I'm sadly known amongst friends for my ridiculously short, almost non-existent lower eyelashes (see above photo) but my lower eyelashes are actually kinda visible now- especially helps when putting mascara on the lower lashes :D

I'll keep to using the product and perhaps post a photo or two to keep track of the results. I've always been kinda skeptical about such things- I mean, wouldn't everyone now have access to pretty eyes after this? >_<
********

Something else that I've just started trying out! Finally bought the Scholl MediQtto Sleeping Hoisery. All the rave in Japan (300000 pairs were sold last September!).

大石 参月 (Oishi Mitsuki) from 『ViVi』 uses it too! ♥

Initial usage was great~ I actually felt like blood was finally going to my legs after a long day shopping around town @_@ I never had this feeling before! On top of that it's supposed to relieve leg dropsy too so it really helps that my legs doesn't look all swollen the next morning *touched* *_*

One of the listed positive effects that made me laugh really hard was this:

安眠を促すラベンダーカラー。

The lavender colour of the socks (actually) facilitates sound sleep! Now how is that going to happen when I'm actually not staring at the socks whilst sleeping? LOL.

Anyway the socks have been great! Here's hoping I'm going to get slimmer legs after this with all the reduction of swelling and all that >_<

つけまつ毛〈eyelashes〉

This post is going to be dedicated to none other than eyelashes. So it seems that girls in Japan have an obsession with "falsies"(faux eyelashes), and charisma-models of Popteen etc. are coming up with their own line of lashes in collaboration.

First and foremost, We'll like to intro one of our all time favourite brand of lashes, "Dolly Wink". A collaboration of the famous Tsubasa Masuwaka (ex. Popteen charisma model) x Koji Japan.

This collection cosists of:

♥No.1 Dolly Sweet Upper Lashes
♥No.2 Sweet Girly Upper Lashes
♥No.3 Natural Girly Upper Lashes
♥No.4 Feminine Style Upper Lashes
♥No.5 Real Nude Bottom Lashes
♥N0.6 Baby Cute Bottom Lashes
♥No.7 Vivid Pop Bottom Lashes
♥No.8 Pure Little Bottom Lashes

♥Liquid Eyeliner in both Black and Brown
♥Pencil Eyeliner in both Black and Brown
♥Eyelash Fix
♥Eyelash Case

Personal favourites of ours are No.1 & 2 of the collection, though the rest are pretty awesome. If you're looking for some cool bottom lashes, try out No.6. The eyelash case is such a bonus don't you think? Such a cute way to carry your lashes around safely.

Following the footsteps of Tsu-chan are Popteen current model Kanno Yui and graduate Kohayashi Jun.

K-ki (ケーキ)

Truth be told, I have never been to Ann Siang Hill.

In my brain I have an album of pre-conceived images of places I have never been to and when ドール spoke of K-ki (i.e ケーキ; or 'cake' in English) at Ann Siang Hill, I imagined it to be tucked in a quiet corner of Chinatown, perfect for an afternoon's getaway.

After gathering as much information as we could (one of them being that the cakes were often sold out by late noon), we got there bright and early on a hot Wednesday afternoon and got ourselves a seat by the window.

By noon the place was pretty much filled and people who came in during lunch hour either bought cakes to-go or spent their time browsing through the knick-knacks at The Little Drom Store while waiting for seats.

Counting our lucky stars for getting there early, we ordered ourselves a cake each for starters.
The infamous Antoinette was first on the list. I've heard so much about this cake that the first thing I did when I got there was to check if there were any left. The oh-so-melt-in-the-mouth white chocolate mousse was light on the tastebuds and envelopes a small tangy portion of mango puree on the inside. It was as good as I had heard it was.
ドール had a go at the Cafe Dumo. It was heaven for us with all that caffeine kick on empty stomachs - it was the standard coffee and chocolate combination but good enough to go with a nice warm cup of tea.

We aren't big fans of Mont Blancs in general but could not resist this when we saw it being brought out from the kitchen at the back.. So the greedy us ordered the Mont Blanc to share. I think the visuals pretty much explained why:

Just imagine the layers of chestnut puree (with bits of chestnut to add that little texture) and whipped cream- we're not particular big fans of this but I'm sure it will appeal to all chestnut lovers :)
All in all it was a good relaxing day well spent- we were so zen after that whole experience that we could barely recall where we were off to next. The owners of K-Ki were really friendly and it was nice chatting with Delphine about the cakes. I wouldn't mind going back there soon! For cakes, tea and that warm and fuzzy feeling ♥
